Sump sizing rule
Sump must hold 10 % of the total volume stored or 100 % of the largest container, whichever is greater. Four 55-gal drums need a 66 gal sump minimum; one 275-gal IBC needs 275 gal.

Oil storage
Facilities over 1,320 gal aggregate oil storage need secondary containment sized for the largest container plus freeboard for rain if stored outdoors. Hard-top units cover the outdoor case.
Load rating vs. UDL
Read the rating correctly
Pallet load ratings are uniformly distributed. Four full 55-gal drums weigh about 2,000 lb; the 4,500–6,000 lb ratings here leave margin for forklift entry and shifted loads.
