The UltraTech 9856 Grate Guard is a sediment-only, high-flow stormwater inlet protection insert designed for 24" x 48" flat storm drain grates. It slides onto or under the grate and uses a high-flow woven filter fabric to capture sediment, silt, and debris while allowing runoff to pass through to the drain. Once installed, collected material can be removed from street level with standard tools, reducing the need to lift or remove heavy grates during maintenance.
- 24" x 48" Inlet Coverage – Sized to fit 24" x 48" (610 x 1,219 mm) storm drain grates, providing full coverage for sediment and debris control at flat grate catch basins.
- Sediment-Only High-Flow Design – High-flow woven filtration media captures sediment, silt, and debris while maintaining drainage performance in a sediment-only, no-overflow configuration.
- Hook-and-Loop Grate Attachment – Slides onto the storm drain grate and uses heavy-duty hook-and-loop fasteners to keep the unit closed and secured in place during operation.
- Street-Level Maintenance – Sediment, dirt, and silt can be removed with a broom, flat shovel, or similar tool from street level, minimizing grate handling and simplifying routine maintenance.
- Durable, Reusable Construction – Manufactured with durable, high-visibility polypropylene fabric and high-flow woven material, with a 2 lb (0.9 kg) unit weight suitable for repeated use in stormwater programs.
