The UltraTech 9855 Grate Guard is a sediment-only, high-flow stormwater inlet protection insert designed for 24" x 40" flat storm drain grates. It slides onto the storm drain’s grate and uses heavy-duty hook-and-loop fasteners to secure a high-flow woven filter that captures sediment, silt, and debris while allowing runoff to pass through. Once installed, accumulated material can be removed from street level with a broom, flat shovel, or similar tools, reducing the need to lift or remove the grate during maintenance.
- 24" x 40" Inlet Coverage – Sized to fit 24" x 40" (610 x 1,016 mm) flat storm drain grates, providing full coverage for sediment and debris control at catch basin inlets.
- Sediment-Only High-Flow Design – High-flow woven polypropylene filtration media captures sediment, silt, and debris while maintaining drainage performance in a sediment-only, no-overflow configuration.
- Hook-and-Loop Grate Attachment – Slides onto the storm drain grate and uses heavy-duty hook-and-loop fasteners to keep the unit closed and secured around the grate during operation.
- Street-Level Maintenance Access – Sediment, dirt, and silt are removed from the surface with a broom, flat shovel, or similar tool, allowing cleanout from street level without removing the grating.
- Durable, Reusable Construction – Manufactured from durable, hi-vis woven polypropylene with integrated lifting straps and a 2 lb (0.9 kg) unit weight, designed for repeated cleaning and reuse in stormwater BMP programs.
